Dylan Lesko Struggles Through First Half At High-A
4 months agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Dylan Lesko has struggled throughout the first half of the 2024 season at High-A Fort Wayne. Through 65 ⅔ innings, the right-hander has posted a 6.03 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and a 48:76 BB:K ratio. Last summer, the former 15th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft earned a small taste of High-A and posted a similar 4.50 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across three starts. Lesko has shown high potential at times this season, as he logged five starts where he allowed one run or less. However, in his next start following these strong outings, he usually allowed at least three runs. If the 20-year-old could find some consistency in the second half, he could earn a promotion to Double-A later in the summer.
