Since the John Deere Classic was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dylan Frittelli is this week's defending champion, as he claimed victory in the Quad Cities in 2019. While Frittelli came into the 2019 edition in poor form, his 2021 game log is even more concerning. The University of Texas product has missed five of his last six cuts, and failed to record a top-10 finish on Tour all season. Frittelli's struggles this season are directly related to poor putting and iron play. Over his last 36 rounds, the South African ranks 106th in strokes gained approach and 121st in strokes gained putting, out of all players in this field. The easiest roadmap to success at TPC Deere Run is through approach play and putting, and Frittelli is doing neither well. Fantasy managers should expect a disappointing title defense from the 2019 winner. --Andy Lack
