Dylan Frittelli Gets a Sponsor Exemption into the Valero Texas Open
7 years agoDylan Frittelli's ride so far on the PGA Tour has been a bit all over the place. After two consecutive missed cuts, Frittelli finished tied for 32nd this past week at the RBC Heritage. Most of Frittelli's success has come overseas on the European Tour, and he has yet to record a top-10 result on the PGA Tour. His finish at the RBC Heritage can be viewed as slightly disappointing since he led the field in strokes gained off the tee, a stat he had been struggling with mightily coming into the event. Frittelli's downfall was his putter, in which he lost 3.422 strokes for the tournament. The Valero Texas Open and the RBC Heritage are polar-opposite courses, so it will be interesting to see if Frittelli can put together another solid performance off the tees. The RBC Heritage plays as one of the shortest courses driving-distance wise, and the Valero Texas Open demands so much from the players with their drivers.
