Dylan Cease Not Going Anywhere At Deadline
1 year agoChicago White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease will reportedly not get traded at this year's MLB trade deadline. The club dealt pitchers Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez to the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night and will almost certainly deal impending free agent Lance Lynn as well but Cease is apparently staying put. The 2022 AL Cy Young Award runner-up isn't having his best season with a 4.04 ERA across 21 starts but he also sports a 3.63 FIP, 3.93 SIERA, and a healthy 18.5% K-BB% across 113 2/3 innings of work. The White Sox have two more years of club control over Cease following the 2023 season as they hang onto their ace, at least for the remainder of the 2023 campaign.
