Dusty Baker Returning To Astros In 2022
3 years agoThe Houston Astros announced on Friday that they signed manager Dusty Baker to a one-year contract extension for the 2022 season after he came just two wins shy of winning the World Series this year. Next season will mark the 72-year-old's 25th season as a manager in professional baseball and his third with the Astros after they hired him in January of 2020. The Astros won their fourth American League West title in five seasons this year by winning 95 games under Baker. One of the biggest questions for Houston heading into the offseason will be whether they can bring star shortstop Carlos Correa back with him scheduled to become a free agent this winter. Baker is just 13 wins shy of reaching 2,000 in his career, and his 1,987 wins are 12th most on the all-time list.
