2 weeks agoCalgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf snapped his three-game losing skid on Thursday evening when he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he saw en route to defeating the Anaheim Ducks. Wolf held a high 2.99 GAA with a modest .878 save percentage during his three-game skid. In Thursday's game, his lone blemish came in the opening frame when Owen Zellweger scored his seventh goal of the season. After enjoying an impressive stretch through December and January, Wolf took a step back in February and March, holding a 2.97 GAA with a .894 save percentage with a 5-7-4 record over this stretch. However, as a rookie, Wolf has been very productive at times and could be turning the corner just in time for the stretch run. Fantasy managers should expect him to remain in the starter's crease for most of the remainder of the regular season.

4 weeks agoCalgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf will take on Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. The impressive rookie will attempt to bounce back from two consecutive defeats. In his last outing, Wolf was defeated 4-2 by the Colorado Avalanche, and he also suffered a 4-3 shootout loss to the Vancouver Canucks last week. Wolf has posted a record of 22-13-5 with three shutouts, while his goals-against average is at 2.54 and his save percentage at .914. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a good campaign but appears to be struggling at the moment and will not be a good fantasy option for Monday. Toronto has already lit up Wolf once in 2024-25, as the young netminder coughed up five goals on 29 shots in a 6-3 loss on Feb. 4.

He will make his 40th start of the campaign as the Flames welcome the NHL's sixth-highest scoring team to town. After winning only one decision in February, Wolf has returned to form this month, posting a 2-0-2 record with 1.93 goals-against average, a .933 save percentage, and one shutout. The rookie netminder boasts three shutouts for the season and has impressed with a 22-12-5 record. Wolf has given up 2.53 goals in 2024-25 with a .915 save percentage. Colorado's talented offense will present a major challenge for Wolf on Friday night, but he can draw confidence from his 15-6-3 home record.

During this stretch, the rookie has posted a strong .945 save percentage with a 1.50 GAA. Before this recent string of outings, the 23-year-old held an underwhelming 2-5-2 over his last nine starts with a .905 save percentage with a 2.69 GAA. Through 38 total games this season, Wolf has emerged as one of the league's most consistent goaltenders, posting a .915 save percentage and a 2.52 GAA. When playing at home, Wolf has been especially dominant as he has gone 15-6-2 with a 2.17 GAA. He should be viewed as a top pay in DFS this evening and should be started in all formats.
