Dustin Pedroia Works Out Thursday
6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) took grounders and hit in the batting cage on Thursday after playing in just three games last year due to complications from left knee surgery. "He looks good. We talked a little bit," said manager Alex Cora. "He met with the medical staff and he'll be out there Monday. He looks in good spirits. He looks in great shape. Looking forward to start working with him and seeing where he takes us." Pedroia played in just 105 games in 2017 and is entering his age-35 season. Boston has several others on roster who can play second base, so they aren't necessarily banking on Pedroia to play the majority of the year at the keystone. Unless Pedroia proves otherwise, he can be avoided in all mixed leagues.
