Dustin Pedroia Plays In Spring Game Saturday
6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) played five innings on defense and had three at-bats in a Grapefruit League game on Saturday against the Braves. A decision could be made as early as Sunday if Pedroia will play on Opening Day against the Mariners. The veteran went 0-for-3 but hit a hard line drive to right field, and he admits he's still getting his timing down after playing in only three games in 2018. Even if Pedroia starts at the keystone on Opening Day, the Red Sox are likely to rest him often with either Eduardo Nunez or Brock Holt, making Pedroia a low-upside fantasy option at this point in his career.
