Dustin Fowler Optioned Despite Nice Spring
6 years agoThe Oakland Athletics optioned outfielder Dustin Fowler to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday despite the fact he had a strong spring. He his .293 (12-for-41) with two home runs during Cactus League spring play, but he was on the outside looking in once Robbie Grossman was added to the roster early in camp. "I knew the chances were slim for me, but I just did everything I could and hoped for the best. I was the odd man out, so I've just go to swallow it and do everything I can to get back up here," Fowler said. He'll likely be one of the first call-ups at the first sign of struggle or injury, but avoid him for now unless you have deeper benches in AL-only fantasy play.
