Drey Jameson Throws First Bullpen Session
4 months agoArizona Diamondbacks right-hander Drey Jameson (elbow) threw his first bullpen session on Friday since having Tommy John surgery last September, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Jameson isn't going to pitch at all in 2024, but it's a notable step for the 26-year-old as he looks to be ready to go for the start of the 2025 campaign next spring. Jameson was a former 34th overall pick in 2019 out of Ball State and had an impressive MLB debut in 2022, when he went 3-0 with a 1.48 ERA (3.19 FIP) and 1.11 WHIP with 24 strikeouts and seven walks in his first four starts over 24 1/3 innings. He was used as a starter and reliever in 2023 but was more effective out of the bullpen, going a combined 3-1 with a 3.32 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 37 K's and 18 walks in 15 outings (three starts). It remains to be seen what role he'll be in to begin the 2025 season.
