Drey Jameson Closes Out Tuesday's Victory
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks reliever Drey Jameson pitched the final two innings of Tuesday's 8-6 win over the San Diego Padres to earn his first save of the season. He allowed three hits, a walk, and a run but struck out two. Jameson now owns a 3.00 ERA with seven strikeouts across six innings of work after posting a 1.48 ERA with a 24.5% strikeout rate over 24.1 innings in 2022. The save comes a day after Scott McGough blew a chance against the Padres on Monday. The 33-year-old McGough is probably still the front-runner, but look for Jameson to continue getting opportunities when the former is unavailable or if he continues to falter.
