Drew Steckenrider Takes Third Win In Relief Friday
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Drew Steckenrider threw a scoreless eighth inning against the Los Angeles Angels Friday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters. He was credited with his third win of the season, improving his record to 3-2. Steckenrider has elevated himself to a prominent role in the Seattle bullpen with his excellent play, as he's posted a 2.18 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 35 strikeouts in 33 innings this season. He and Paul Sewald appear to be the primary setup men in front of closer Kendall Graveman, and he could fall into some additional save opportunities if Graveman is moved before the trade deadline. He's worth keeping an eye on in all formats for now.
