2 years agoSan Diego Padres left-handed reliever Drew Pomeranz (forearm) is throwing bullpen sessions at 75 to 80%. Manager Bob Melvin is optimistic about Pomeranz's progress, but the team doesn't want to push him too fast after he had flexor tendon surgery in August of 2021. Pomeranz is hopeful that the surgery will permanently fix an injury he's dealt with for the last five years. There's no timetable for his return. Meanwhile, reliever Pierce Johnson (elbow), who landed on the injured list in late April with right elbow tendonitis, has yet to resume throwing.
