Drew Pomeranz Plays Catch Regularly, Yet To Throw Off A Mound
3 years agoSan Diego Padres pitcher Drew Pomeranz (elbow) has been playing catch regularly from 120 feet but has yet to throw off a mound. His 2021 season ended with flexor tendon surgery in his left arm; the southpaw is hopeful that the surgery will permanently fix an issue he says he's been dealing with for the past five seasons. San Diego will have a better timeline for a return once Pomeranz throws off a mound. The 33-year-old owned a 1.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 30:10 K: BB across 25 2/3 innings in 2021. Fantasy managers in NL-Only or deep-league formats can continue to stash Pomeranz on their rosters.
