Drew Gilbert Returns To Action On Rehab Assignment
4 months agoNew York Mets outfield prospect Drew Gilbert (hamstring) was 0-for-2 with a walk in a rehab appearance Thursday for the FCL Mets. The Mets' No. 3 prospect is working his way back from a right hamstring strain. The 23-year-old managed to play just seven games this season for Triple-A Syracuse. The former first-round pick of the Astros in 2022, Gilbert offers a nice blend of hitting and speed. Once he demonstrates full health and makes it back to Syracuse, Gilbert could push for a promotion to the big leagues before the season is over.
