Drew Gilbert Hits 7-Day Injured List
1 day agoNew York Mets outfield prospect Drew Gilbert (hamstring) was placed on the 7-day injured list. Gilbert dealt with hamstring injuries last season and was unable to participate in the Grapefruit League. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but should expect the Mets to be cautious with Gilbert. Gilbert is considered one of the top hitting prospects in the system. Last season, the former 28th overall selection only appeared in 62 contests in the minor leagues. He spent most of his time with Triple-A, where he held a .215/.313/.393 slash line. However, during the 2023 campaign, Gilbert was very productive at the Double-A level, posting a strong .271/.372/.438 slash line with 12 long balls across 95 games. When he returns to action, he could push for an MLB debut in the second half of the campaign.
