Drew Butera Retires, Transitions To Coaching Role
3 years agoVeteran catcher Drew Butera has made the decision to retire from the MLB. He is now transitioning into the coaching portion of his career. He will be a member of the Los Angeles Angels' coaching staff. He will serve as the team's bullpen catcher. The 38-year-old spent 12 years in the majors, playing for five different teams. Over 553 career games, he slashed .196/.252/.290 with 19 home runs.
