Dorian Finney-Smith Inks Four-Year Contract Extension
3 years agoDallas Mavericks small/power forward Dorian Finney-Smith had an active day during Thursday's trade deadline, but it did not involve a trade. Instead, Finney-Smith signed a four-year contract extension with the Mavericks, which is slated to be worth $52 million. Dallas has bought into Finney-Smith as their starting power forward, shipping Kristaps Porzingis to Washington in a deal that netted Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans. Averaging a career-high 10.1 points per game this season, Finney-Smith remains on the fringe of season-long viability in most fantasy formats, but primarily due to his biggest contributions being of the defensive variety. With that said, he has seen his offensive role expand this year, an upward trajectory that portends well for his future fantasy upside.
