D'Onta Foreman Should Have Expanded Role In Week 7
1 year agoChicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman is set to have an expanded role in Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He is coming off his most substantial workload of the season, with 15 carries for 65 yards but no touchdowns in their 19-13 loss to the Vikings. Due to Khalil Herbert's (ankle) injury sending him to the injured reserve and Roschon Johnson (concussion) being sidelined with a concussion, Foreman stepped into the spotlight and reaped the benefits of increased opportunities. While his limited involvement in the passing game makes him touchdown-dependent, Foreman proved effective, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. With Herbert on injured reserve and Johnson ruled out in Week 7, Foreman will lead Chicago's backfield again. The Raiders currently rank 13th in points allowed to running backs, and the potential absence of starting quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) may lead the Bears to lean more on their rushing attack.
