Don't Count Eli Manning Out Just Yet
5 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has been subject to much scrutiny over the last few months, especially now with the Giants drafting quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick in the NFL draft. The Giants struggles as of late have been very apparent, only winning eight games over the last two seasons. But let's remember, amidst all of the struggles, Manning still threw for 4,299 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2018. Coming into camp this year, Manning's performance in 7-7 and 11-11 drills has been described as "dominating.” New York Giants wide receiver Russell Shepard stated "he just doesn't look like a guy who is ready to slow down.” Manning working strictly on arm strength this offseason has clearly seemed to work in his favor. If he can continue to build on to his offensive production in 2019, and become a true two-dimensional player, he could be a viable pick for anyone in need of a quarterback to fill their fantasy roster this fall. It's hard to say who will win the position battle based on camp drills alone, but at the moment, it certainly looks like we are bearing witness to a resurgence as Manning enters into his 16th season with the Giants.
