Donnel Pumphrey Not Helping His Cause
6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Donnel Pumphrey (hamstring), who is on the roster bubble in training camp, hasn't been practicing due to an injured hamstring. The fourth-rounder in 2017 added muscle to his frame and looked to be in contention for the fourth running back spot before camp started. Pumphrey didn't play in the preseason opener and isn't expected to play this Thursday against the Patriots, meanwhile losing valuable ground in the competition to Wendell Smallwood, Matt Jones and undrafted rookie Josh Adams. “Each day is a little bit of a missed opportunity. He’s got to get himself healthy and try to get himself back here as soon as he can," head coach Doug Pederson said. After spending his rookie year on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury, Pumphrey is running out of time to make the Eagles roster. You can avoid him in fantasy drafts.
