Dominic Smith Out Tuesday
5 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/outfielder Dominic Smith (thumb) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday after being scratched with a hyperextended right thumb on Sunday. Smith suffered the injury on Saturday night but said he wasn't too concerned about it. He underwent an MRI exam in New York on Monday. J.D. Davis is in left field and is hitting cleanup against Giants left-hander Madison Bumgarner on Tuesday. Smith is hitting .365/.467/.571 with three home runs and eight RBI in 63 at-bats for the Mets this season, but he was starting to see more regular playing time before his injury Saturday. If Smith starts to play more, he'll be worth adding in deep mixed leagues if he continues to hit like he has all season in limited chances.
