2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfield prospect Dominic Canzone was selected in the eighth round of the 2019 draft. The Ohio State product plays a blend of outfield and first base, and while he has a solid glove, his arm ranks well below average. Still, Canzone's bat has looked quite impressive, so don't be surprised if the Diamondbacks find a permanent defensive home for Canzone (either at first base or in left field) just to insert his offensive production into the lineup. Most notably, the 25-year-old has demonstrated fantastic power while posting solid walk and strikeout rates. Canzone impressed through five games in the minors this past week, going 8-for-20 (.400) with four homers, nine RBI, three walks, and just two strikeouts.
