Dominic Canzone Picks Up Three Hits In Rehab Game
4 months agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Dominic Canzone (thigh) went 3-for-4 with a home run, an RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a strikeout in his latest minor-league rehab game on Sunday with Triple-A Tacoma. On Saturday and Sunday combined, Canzone went 5-for-8 with a double, two home runs, three RBI, four runs scored and a walk. It appears the 26-year-old is close to rejoining the big-league roster after playing in four straight rehab games. The Mariners can use all the outfield depth they can get in the majors, but Canzone will most likely serve as a platoon guy, at best, when he rejoins the M's. Before his injury, he was hitting .211/.289/.394 with a below-average .684 OPS, seven home runs, 14 RBI and 18 runs scored in 142 at-bats in 54 games in just his second year in the big leagues.
