Domingo Tapia Called On For Monday's Save
2 years agoSan Diego Padres reliever Domingo Tapia earned a multi-inning save Monday, his first of the season, when his team defeated the Cincinnati Reds 8-3. He pitched the last two innings of the game, striking out a pair and allowing no baserunners. Over 10.1 innings of work, Tapia owns a 3.48 ERA, 24.4% strikeout rate, 13.3% walk rate, 1.35 WHIP, and one hold. The Padres have one of the most dominant closers in baseball in Josh Hader, so fantasy managers shouldn't roster the right-hander looking for saves. Tapia's value is limited in hold leagues as well, with the club's abundance of setup men, so he can be left on the waiver wire in almost all formats.
