Domantas Sabonis Quiet In Loss Friday
3 years agoIndiana Pacers power forward Domantas Sabonis logged a season-low 22 minutes during a 121-118 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle benched the starters, as the group was an average of -16 on the night. Sabonis shot 3-for-6 from the field, including 0-for-3 from three-point range, and 2-for-4 from the free-throw line. The 25-year-old also posted six rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal. With the return of guard Caris LeVert and the addition of rookie guard Chris Duarte, the Gonzaga product has taken a step back this season across all major categories, outside of field goal percentage, and will have a difficult time replicating last year's stellar campaign. Sabonis and the starters will look to rebound at home Saturday versus the New Orleans Pelicans.
