Dolphins Use Second First-Rounder On Austin Jackson
5 years agoThe Miami Dolphins selected USC offensive tackle Austin Jackson with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. It's good news for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who the Dolphins took at No. 5 overall. He donated bone marrow to his sister, so he was slow out of the gates last fall. But Jackson will immediately help a Miami offensive line that will need to improve in order to protect an injury-prone Tagovailoa for years to come. He is a true left tackle with great foot quickness and athleticism. Jackson is only 20 years old, so he may not be an immediate impact protecting the blind side, but his upside is off the charts once Tagovailoa is starting under center. He can also play in different run schemes on the left side.
