Dolphins Trade Back Into Top 10 In First Round Of Draft
4 years agoThe Miami Dolphins traded the No. 3 overall pick in next month's draft to the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, but they leaped back into the top 10 when they acquired the No. 6 overall pick and a fifth-rounder from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the No. 12 pick, No. 123 (fourth round) and a 2022 first-round pick. So Miami will have the sixth overall pick this year and will also receive a 2023 first-round selection and a 2022 third-round pick. The Eagles have the No. 12 pick, a fourth-round pick this year and a 2022 first-rounder. The Dolphins will once again be in a position to take a high-caliber talent in the first round of this year's draft, and they could land a player like Ja'Marr Chase, Kyle Pitts, Jaylen Waddle or one of the top offensive linemen available. The Eagles could have as many as three first-round picks in 2022, with the Carson Wentz trade involving a conditional first-round pick based on playing time.
