Dolphins Claim Tyrel Dodson Off Waivers From Seahawks
1 week agoThe Miami Dolphins claimed linebacker Tyrel Dodson off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday after the Seahawks surprisingly waived him on Monday, according to a source. Dodson was leading the Seahawks with 71 tackles through the first 10 weeks of the season, in addition to two sacks, and had started every game. It's no surprise that he was quickly picked up off waivers, and the 26-year-old will now head to the AFC East division. He will be joining a linebacking corps in Miami that includes Jordyn Brooks, Anthony Walker and David Long. Based on how well Dodson was playing before being cut by Seattle, he figures to have a prominent role on defense with his new club. The Texas A&M alum debuted in 2020 with the Buffalo Bills and spent his first four seasons in Buffalo, recording 143 tackles (102 solo), 4.5 sacks, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 59 games (15 starts).
