Dinelson Lamet Resumes Rehab Assignment
3 years agoSan Diego Padres pitcher Dinelson Lamet (forearm) resumed a rehab assignment on August 24 with Low-A Lake Elsinore. Working his way back from elbow and forearm issues, Lamet was dealt a setback a few weeks ago with a hip infection. After his breakout 2020 season, the 29-year-old right-hander has been limited to just 34 ⅓ frames this season, registering a 3.67 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. With his lethal fastball-slider combination, the plan is for Lamet to return in a relief capacity, but his return timetable is uncertain. However, without a defined role and serious questions about health, Lamet is no longer a fantasy option for 2021.
