Dinelson Lamet Picks Up Save On Wednesday
8 months agoWith Los Angeles Dodgers closer Evan Phillips unavailable to pitch after appearing in three of the last four games for L.A., Dinelson Lamet picked up the save in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Giants. It was Lamet's first career save, and he needed just eleven pitches to get through the inning, throwing seven of them for strikes. The 31-year-old struck out two in the outing and now has a 3:1 K:BB through three appearances (3 IP) in 2024 without allowing a single hit or an earned run. The righty likely won't get many more save opportunities with Evan Phillips doing just fine, but in deeper leagues, he could help lower ERA and WHIP while chipping in some strikeouts for managers in need of help in those areas.
