Dinelson Lamet Makes Spring Training Debut
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Dinelson Lamet (elbow) made his spring training debut against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. He started the game and pitched just one inning, allowing a solo home run to Donovan Solano, but no other hits. Lamet threw 12 pitches in the outing, most of which were fastballs. His velocity was strong and he was hovering in the mid- to high-90s, with his final pitch hitting 98 mph. Lamet is coming back from an elbow injury that cut his 2020 season short. He had a strong year before the injury in 2020, posting a 2.09 ERA and 0.855 WHIP over 12 starts while averaging 12.1 K/9.
