Dinelson Lamet Designated For Assignment
7 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Dinelson Lamet was designated for assignment on Saturday as the Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Gus Varland. Varland struggled in the major leagues last season as he posted a 6.64 ERA and 2.11 WHIP across 20 ⅓ innings. Lamet pitched only 4 ⅓ innings for the Dodgers this season to the tune of a 2.08 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. Lamet also tallied a save on April 3 against the San Francisco Giants. As a result, Daniel Hudson, Alex Vesia, and Joe Kelly should be viewed as top options to tally holds, and Evan Phillips should receive a majority of the save opportunities.
