Diego Castillo Placed On Injured List Saturday
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Diego Castillo (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, according to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times. Castillo had just blown a save opportunity in his last outing on Thursday, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out two over one inning of work. Over 10 appearances with Seattle since being acquired from Tampa Bay, Castillo has gone 0-1 with one save, a 3.86 ERA, 0.857 WHIP and 22.2 percent strikeout rate over 9 1/3 innings of work. To replace Castillo on the active roster, the Mariners recalled relief pitcher Robert Dugger from Triple-A Tacoma. At this point, Castillo only has value in SV/HLD formats, and in those leagues he should be stashed on the IL for now.
