Didi Gregorius Drives In Seven In Wild Victory
5 years agoThe New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins engaged in an offensive battle for the ages Tuesday night at Target Field. The star of the night was shortstop Didi Gregorius, who drove in seven runs in a 5-for-5 performance at the plate. The Dutch native doubled home two runs in the first inning. He later drilled a three-run blast in the fifth, before his biggest hit of the night. With two on in the eighth, he stepped to the plate with the Yankees trailing by a run. Gregorius drilled a bases-clearing double to deep center, putting New York on top. From that point on, the game became all the more insane, as the offenses engaged in a bitterly-contested offensive battle that saw New York prevail, 14-12 in 10 innings.
