Didi Gregorius Cleared To Begin Throwing Program
6 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow), who will miss the first half of the season after having Tommy John surgery, has been cleared to begin a throwing program, according to manager Aaron Boone. Gregorius was one of the most valuable fantasy shortstops in 2018, hitting .268/.335/.494 with a career-high 27 home runs, 86 RBI, 89 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 134 games, but the fact that he'll miss around half of the season pretty much kills any mixed league value he has for 2019. Gleyber Torres and Troy Tulowitzki are expected to split time at the 6 in the first half with Gregorius out.
