Devontae Booker Looks to Capitalize on Increased Role
6 years agoHeading into the 2018 offseason, many figured Denver Broncos running back Devontae Booker would be the team's featured back. Well, he'd been relegated to a tertiary role by the time the preseason concluded and seven weeks and 1.9 carries per game into the regular season, it's clear that role isn't large enough to garner much in terms of production. However, Freeman will miss this Week 8 matchup with the Chiefs - meaning Booker should see a bit more action on Sunday. How much, though? That is the question. There's a reason the coaching staff favored the two rookies heading into the season; so I'm hesitant to believe he'll see a massive boost. But, with four teams on bye this week, you could do worse than Booker if looking for a flex stand-in in deeper leagues.
