DeVonta Smith Should Be In For A Bigger Workload In Week 11
1 year agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in Week 11 on Monday night. The 25-year-old has bounced back over the past two games, finding the end zone and becoming more involved in the offense. That role should only continue to grow with tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) missing several weeks. Last season, when Goedert missed time, Smith averaged 8.4 targets per game, 84 yards, scored twice, and averaged 13.3 fantasy points per game in Half-PPR scoring formats. That's an increase of nearly three fantasy points per game compared to this year's production. When Goedert misses time, we have seen the other tight ends do not see anywhere near the same usage, and the targets revert to the wide receiver corps. Kansas City is a tough matchup, as the Chiefs allow the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year. However, with more targets inbound for the former Heisman winner, Smith will be a top-tier WR2 heading into Week 11.
