DeVonta Smith Post 169 Yards During Sunday's Victory
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught eight of his 12 targets for 169 yards and a touchdown during the team's 24-8 victory over the Washington Commanders Sunday. The second-year receiver has been targeted 19 times since Week 1, where he failed to catch any of his four targets against the Lions. With A.J. Brown drawing top coverage, Smith has taken advantage of the opposing defense's No. 2 cornerbacks with his blazing speed. However, perhaps most impressive has been how good he has looked when the catch is contested. The 23-year-old made two impressive catches with a defender in his face Sunday, including a deep 44-yard reception where he came down just one-yard shy of a touchdown. Smith should be considered a high-end WR3 next week when the Eagles host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
