DeVonta Smith Gains 126 Yards In Week 15
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught 5-of-8 targets for 126 yards during the team's 25-20 victory over the Chicago Bears. The 24-year-old's 25.2 yards per catch was a season-high. While the Eagles' offense started off slow against Chicago, quarterback Jalen Hurts started to fire on all cylinders after scoring late in the second quarter. Teammate A.J. Brown doubled Smith's target total in this game, but the pair combined for 307 of Hurts' 315 passing yards. Tight end Dallas Goedert (shoulder) was not activated like many had thought heading into the weekend, but he has a shot at returning next week against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. Goedert's return could take targets away from the second-year receiver, but after a strong showing over the past six weeks, Smith has more than cemented his status as the clear No. 2 target in the offense. He is a solid WR2 next week against the Cowboys.
