DeVonta Smith Comes In Clutch Late, Helps Secure Win Over Chiefs
1 year agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught six of eight targets for 99 yards during the team's 21-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The 25-year-old accounted for 66% of the Eagles' receiving yards on Monday night and came down with a clutch reception on a 41-yard bomb in the fourth quarter that set the Eagles up on the goal line for the Brotherly Shove to put the team ahead with half the quarter to go. Kansas City sold out often to keep A.J. Brown blanketed in coverage, and with rain constantly falling throughout the contest, quarterback Jalen Hurts elected to throw to Smith, who was usually in single coverage, most often Monday night. Fantasy managers can continue to expect Smith to be more involved over the next few weeks with tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) expected to miss a few more games. Consider the third-year receiver a high-end WR2 against the Buffalo Bills in Week 12.
