Devon Levi Closes Out Season With A Victory
2 years agoBuffalo Sabres goaltender Devon Levi stopped 29 of 31 shots in a 5-2 victory in Friday's season finale against the Blue Jackets. He was beaten by Johnny Gaudreau just 34 seconds into the game, but the young goalie recovered superbly from the setback and allowed only one more goal for the rest of the way. Levi, who was voted the best goaltender in the NCAA for a second consecutive year in 2023, made his NHL debut at the end of March and ended up doing a great job for Buffalo. He finished the campaign with a 5-2-0 record, allowing 2.94 goals per game with a .905 save percentage. Levi is the third Sabres goalie in history to win five of his first seven games in the NHL. The 21-year-old will only get better with age and the 2023-24 campaign could already be a big one for him.
