Devin Williams Picks Up 34th Save
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams tossed a perfect ninth inning to secure a 4-2 win over the Miami Marlins on Thursday. Williams now has three perfect outings in a row after going through a tough two-game stretch where he allowed two runs and blew a save. There were never any real concerns with the 28-year-old, though, as he has pitched to a sparkling 1.65 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with 79 strikeouts over 54 ⅔ IP this season while converting 34 of his 38 save opportunities. He is a top-five closer and will be drafted that way next year.
