Devin Williams Notches Five-Out Save Tuesday
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams secured his sixth save of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals. Williams came on in the eighth inning up by one with one out and runners on first and third. The runner advanced to second on a stolen base, but Williams proceeded to get a strikeout and groundout. He got the first two outs in the ninth on a flyout and strikeout, allowed a double, intentionally walked Nolan Arenado, and ended the game on a groundout. While he hasn't had much opportunity for saves to this point, Williams has been excellent, converting all save opportunities with a 0.64 ERA and a 12.21 K/9 rate. He remains a solid fantasy option, although a second-tier one given the lack of overall opportunities.
