7 years agoWashington Capitals forward Devante Smith-Pelly will replace the suspended Tom Wilson on the top line with Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov ahead of Thursday night's Game 4 matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Smith-Pelly finished his first season as a Capital with 16 points in 75 games and currently sits at three points in nine postseason games. The 25-year-old had some looks on the top line during the regular season but never managed to hold onto it -- this move is more out of necessity than experimentation. Wilson will be out for three games and if Smith-Pelly can hold his place, he provides great potential for his low price.--Barry Miles
