Detroit's Defense Has Potential Against Dolphins
6 years agoThe Detroit Lions defense has a sneaky solid matchup against the Brock Osweiler-led Dolphins on Sunday. After surrendering 78 points in their first two games, the Lions defense has been better, but not great, in their previous three games, allowing 19.6 points per game. They have allowed the fewest passing yards in the league so far and are tied for 10th in the league with 17 sacks. However, they do struggle in the run game, allowing an average of 145.8 yards per game, and are one of four teams that allow over five yards per rush. The tandem of Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake could pose a problem for a defense that may be missing defensive end Ziggy Ansah for a fifth straight game. If the Lions can contain the run and force Osweiler to throw, it could be a good day for Darius Slay and the Lions secondary. Count Detroit as a solid streaming option in Week 7.
