Lions Defense Stifles The Patriots
6 years agoThe Detroit Lions defense looked like a different unit in Sunday's 26-10 win against the Patriots. Holding Tom Brady and company to just 209 total yards, Detroit had an answer to almost everything the Patriots had to throw at them. Not only did they Lions contain Rob Gronkowski, but they also got pressure on Brady, forcing two sacks and hitting him six times. Darius Slay, who was in concussion protocol all week and was questionable to play, also picked off a Brady pass in the fourth quarter. This performance was big for Detroit, as their defense had been gashed the first two weeks, allowing 78 points. Next week, they go on the road to face a struggling Cowboys team that can't seem to get anything going on offense.
