Despite Penalties, Justin Haley Earns Best Career Finish At Nashville
5 months agoJustin Haley finished 13th in Sunday's Ally 400 from Nashville Superspeedway, marking his best finish at the track in his Cup career. Despite the strong showing, the weekend started off rough for the 24-year-old. After initially passing inspection, NASCAR announced that Haley's team made an unapproved adjustment that resulted in the No. 51 being forced to start in the rear, having car chief JR Norris ejected for the weekend, and having to serve a drive through penalty following the opening green flag. Nevertheless, even with these penalties, the Rick Ware Racing star managed to work his way up through the field, earning his second top-15 finish in the last three weeks and scoring 50 DraftKings points on a salary of just $5,600. Between his showing in Sunday's race, as well as his performance in last year's Chicago street race, Haley will likely be a very popular pick when NASCAR returns to the Windy City next weekend.
