Deshaun Watson Likely To Play In Preseason Opener
6 years agoHouston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien says that quarterback Deshaun Watson, who missed the second half of the 2017 season after tearing his ACL, will likely play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, though he isn't certain that the second-year passer will suit up. If Watson does play, it will be interesting to see how he moves around the pocket, but don't expect Houston to call any designed runs as they look to protect their biggest asset. In the event that Watson doesn't play the first few series for Houston, backup quarterback Brandon Weeden will get the start as he looks to solidify his role as Houston's number two quarterback.
