6 years agoMiami Heat small forward Derrick Jones came out of nowhere to score 18 points in 26 minutes during Wednesday's preseason contest against the New Orleans Pelicans. Logging 26 minutes as a starter, he also ended up leading the team with a plus-23 rating. Derrick Jones Jr. shot an ugly 1-for-5 from deep, but had a solid shooting night overall, going 7-for-12 from the field. He also picked up four steals, three rebounds, and three assists. Unfortunately, Jones Jr.'s stat line doesn't matter much as everybody and their mother had a chance to score in the game -- Miami won 140-128 -- and it was just a fun night for all the bench players.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
